VEDIC ASTROLOGICAL OUTLOOK FOR THE 4TH QUARTER OF 2025:

OCTOBER 2025:

Venus is challenged during October 2025:

     Venus, the planet governing relationships, finances, pleasures, vehicles, real estate matters and devotional/healing tendencies is harmed and very weak in October. On 10/4, Venus is tightly conjunct Ketu at 24 degrees Leo, in Purva Phalguni nakshatra. Both Venus and Purva Phalguni are associated with relationships, sexuality, marriage, and finances. When both transiting Venus and Ketu conjunct in this position, it can signify the blocking or obscuring access to these domains. This can lead to separation, feeling alienated from others, unsupported or dissatisfied with marriage and partnerships, in general.  This transit is also challenging for business partnerships as well as finances and investments.   This may indicate the beginning of a downturn in financial markets, or bad economic news during the month of October.

     However, instead of feeling disappointed or let down by others, this Venus/Ketu conjunction can alternatively refine relationships and orient one towards a more spiritual experience involving partnerships. The discomfort experienced in this domain can create a new orientation toward relationships that is less attached and more flowing, with the Ketu influence on Venus. You can focus on being you and let your personal and business partnerships be who they are, even if they don't match your ideal vision of who you want them to be. In addition, this can lead to a feeling of freedom and letting go of long-standing, built-up expectations regarding other people and how you perceive and experience their actions and reactions toward you. The nice side of Ketu is its dissolving, freeing energy and that does include removing aspects of life that you want to let go of, not only those that appear to be forced upon you to give up. 

     Then on 10/9, Venus enters Virgo, its debilitated sign, joining with the Sun and receiving the harmful aspect of Saturn. Venus remains in Virgo until 11/2, when it then moves to its own stronger sign of Libra. Thus, the malefic Saturn aspect on an already weak Venus does not bode well for Venus significations during the entire month of October, especially regarding relationships, marriage, finances and larger purchases. This is a period where critical evaluation and analysis of these domains are promoted in the atmosphere. October will be a good month for research, critical evaluation and analysis.  This period is a beneficial time to work through dilemmas, long standing relationship issues or restrictive aspects regarding marriage and partnerships. October is also a good month to assess finances, savings and debts, and to design a step-by-step, detailed, organized plan to improve that domain.  This is the month to make several "to do" lists and impose deadlines so that each item gets completed in a timely fashion.  Psychotherapists will likely be busy this month! Several planets gain strength in November, so we have that to look forward to.

     We may be waiting until after November 2nd, for Venus to move into Libra, a much more favorable and congenial position for improved negotiations and compromise, for the U.S. government to finally agree on its spending bill for the coming year. While Venus is debilitated in Virgo, and aspected by Saturn, this area will prove to be challenging for the U.S. government to resolve,  as this Venus placement is in the 10th house of the U.S. chart, ruling the government and its leadership.

Jupiter gains strength transiting to it exaltation position on 10/18:

     Normally Jupiter spends approximately one year transiting any given sign through the zodiac. For this year, Jupiter moves rapidly through Gemini and then enters its exalted sign of Cancer on 10/18. This unusual pattern continues, as Jupiter retrogrades through Cancer starting on 11/11, then goes back into Gemini on 12/5/2025. Jupiter will then return to its exalted sign of Cancer on 6-1-2026 and transit there until 10-31-2026. Therefore, during October, November, and the first 5 days of December, we'll get a short-term  taste of exalted Jupiter in force, offering some gains, support, expansion and optimism, especially in the house where Jupiter is transiting and the other three houses that Jupiter aspects in any given chart. Think of Jupiter's transit as offering a gift, a dose of optimism, and positive energy wherever it travels within your chart. 

     This transit should help the U.S.A., since Jupiter will transit through its 8th house and influence both Rahu and Mercury, its Mahadasha and Bhukti planets, which are currently in force at this time. The U.S. could witness gains and improvements in its financial partnerships involving other countries, for example. This may refer to improvements in trade and/or better tariff agreements toward the end of 2025. Overall, the transit of Jupiter in its exaltation position, no matter how brief this year, will throw some positive energy in the atmosphere in which we can  gain at least some optimism and short-term support. 

NOVEMBER 2025:

For this month, several planets gain strength and get a nice boost, including Mars, Venus and Jupiter:

Mars gains strength beginning on 10/27:

     On 10/27, Mars transits to its own strong sign of Scorpio, conferring great power and strength to Mars. Moreover, Jupiter will throw a beneficial, supportive aspect onto Mars while Mars transits through Scorpio until 12/7. Even on that date, just as Mars moves to the next favorable sign of Sagittarius, Jupiter will concurrently retrograde to Gemini and thus continue to aspect Mars in December. 

     Mars in Scorpio is extremely powerful and this will be an excellent month for working hard for long periods, going the extra mile, feeling more power and strength, while completing projects, engaging in challenging activities, favoring sports, scientific research, mechanical, engineering and construction endeavors.  This period is generally favorable for having greater energy, motivation, and vigor which promotes high activity levels throughout this strong Mars transit. This is an excellent period for deepening an exercise program, being more active and trying activities that take more effort and endurance. It creates a strong sense of independence and fearlessness as well.  This the perfect time to engage in deep, penetrating research and study on any subject of interest.

Venus moves to its own strong sign of Libra on 11/2:

     In contrast to the previous month, Venus gets a new lease on life as it transits into its own strong, favorable sign of Libra on 11/2 until 11/26.  Relationships become easier, flow more smoothly, are more harmonious and it is easier to engage in various personal and business negotiations, and legal proceedings during this time frame. There will be a greater tendency for socializing, attending parties or social events, and working out differences amongst different factions. This is a favorable time for mediations, negotiations and generally being more willing to compromise where applicable. This is likely to be the period when the U.S. resolves its spending bill hold-up.

     With Venus gaining strength, this is a stronger time for artistic and beauty/cosmetic endeavors, paying attention to clothing and improving one's appearance.  Planets in Libra like to fit in with the crowd, dress for the event and appear charming and beautiful. Venus is right at home in its own sign of Libra, so this month will have a stronger focus on these matters. This promotes shopping for the fun of it, especially during the holiday season approaching and should improve business in general. 

     Normally, this would be an excellent time for making major purchases including houses, real estate, furnishings and vehicles.  However, there will  be a concurrent Mercury retrograde transit occurring between 11/9 until 11/29.   This creates the conflicting desires of wanting to make the purchase and sign the contract, but also having a greater tendency for complications, confusion and second thoughts about whether this is the right choice.  It's unfortunate timing with having such a nice Venus in force, but it is also better to wait for Mercury to turn direct before buying anything that is hard to return if it does not work out in the short or long-run. 

Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio on 11/9:

     Mercury will turn retrograde at 12:38 degrees Scorpio on 11/9, and continue to retrograde back to Libra as of 11/23.  Then Mercury turns direct on 11/29 in Libra. While in Scorpio, Mercury will form a tight conjunction with Mars at 12 degrees Scorpio on 11/12. This retrograde Mercury/Mars conjunction is very harsh, so it's wise to be cautious with all types of communications on and near this date. You may find that people are more irritable and impatient with speech, making some bold or brash statements that are experienced as particularly insulting, rough or painful. 

Mercury is the planet governing data, information processing and communications in general. November is a good month to review, or double-check documents, emails, texts and all other forms of communications before sending them out too quickly. Statements may be misunderstood during this time and taken out of context, for example. 

     Communications may be perceived as an attack, extreme criticism or come off as angry, built-up outbursts. There may also be some type of major security breach involving communications, important personal data or other materials during this month. It is definitely wise to make back-up copies of important documents or materials before November commences.  November will be a good month to monitor your data and protect against criminal activity or scams, which may be more numerous than normal.

     When transiting through Scorpio, Mercury's flavor is much more hidden, private, secretive, fixed and closed. So, it is more challenging and harder to obtain information easily, especially in conversation. It is also harder to get people to change their opinions or attitudes during such a transit.  You may feel as if you are hitting a brick wall during this time when speaking with others. The influence of transiting  Mars with transiting  Mercury also creates a sense of irritability and impatience. Putting these factors together, one can surmise that this is a difficult month to try to persuade others to shift perceptions or attitudes in one direction or the other.  

     On the positive side, this Mercury/Mars combination also receives the beneficial aspect of Jupiter, which makes this a good time for deep analysis, research, and uncovering deep information that is often not obtainable. This is also a beneficial time for going deep psychologically and getting greater insights and awareness within. 

DECEMBER 2025:  

Planetary Emphasis on Scorpio and Sagittarius for the entire month:

     On 12/7, Mars transits out of its own sign of Scorpio to the next friendly sign for Mars, that of Sagittarius. Mars performs well in the fire signs and Mars will continue to receive the beneficial aspect of Jupiter for the entire month. However, Mars will also receive the malefic aspects of Saturn and Ketu during December. During early December, the aspects of Saturn to Mars and vice versa will be very close, since Saturn will be sitting at 1 degree Pisces as Mars just enters Sagittarius on 12/7. 

     When Saturn aspects Mars so closely, it tells Mars to hold back and puts the brakes on strongly. Saturn informs Mars that it should not keep going so fast, to slow down before proceeding. That's not the way Mars naturally operates. So, this creates frustration, a sense that one has to wait longer than was expected, and it may be expressed as agitation, irritation and fury. Conversely, Mars is throwing its strong aspect onto Saturn, informing Saturn to "get moving, stop sitting there and moving so slowly and blocking traffic, I have places to go and things to do and you are in my way." Mars is in the fast-moving speed lane and Saturn is in the right hand slow-moving lane. Saturn is trying to tell Mars, "look there's a cop up ahead and there is an accident.  You don't want to get a ticket or hit the other cars, so slow down for now."   This is the atmosphere happening in December. You may want to make progress, but it would be wiser to take it more slowly, be more thorough in your analysis, research, due diligence and decision-making, until Mars moves ahead into its exalted sign of Capricorn and will not receive Saturn's aspect, starting on 1-15-2026.

     With Jupiter and Saturn's transiting aspects hitting Mars in Sagittarius at the same time, and noting that Sagittarius is the U.S. chart's  prominent 1st house, we can expect this above scenario to play out in the U.S. in December. The U.S. will likely make some significant progress in November, involving economics, budgeting, tariffs and other negotiations with other countries, and then in December, the best made plans come to a stand-still or are delayed until mid-January and beyond to take effect. 

     There is also a greater tendency for increased earthquake and volcanic activity likely to take place in December, especially between 12/5 - 12/13.  Heavier rains and flooding, and perhaps early snowfall might be experienced during late November and into December, even though early weather predictions for the U.S. appear to be drier and warmer than normal for the fall months of this year. That might change in late November.

     Sagittarius is the sign governing philosophy, higher education, the law, as well as religion, attitudes, beliefs and travel, including immigration. All of these areas get the spot-light one way or another during the end of December, especially when the Sun, Mercury and Venus join with Mars in Sagittarius between 12/28 until 1-12-2026.  There will likely be extreme opinions and viewpoints expressed in these domains, a lot of antagonistic debates, violent protests, unrest and sparring across various factions in the U.S. during this time period, over differences of opinion on various new laws, dealing with crime, justice and immigration, in particular.
